Workspaces and environments
How a tenant, its workspaces and their environments fit together.
A workspace is where a team's data lives. This page explains the 3 layers you'll see in the console's header, so you know where you are before you change anything.
How it works
| Layer | What it holds | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Tenant | Your organization: billing, members, single sign-on. | Owners and administrators. |
| Workspace | One team or product's data: contacts, journeys, messages, keys. | Members invited to it. |
| Environment | A workspace's production data, or a separate staging copy where offered. | Everyone in the workspace. |
A tenant can have several workspaces, and a member can belong to more than one. The workspace switcher in the header lists the ones you can open; the current workspace's name is always shown beside the product label.
Where a product offers a staging environment, the header carries an amber Staging tag while you're in it. Nothing you do there reaches customers.
Switch workspace
- Open the workspace switcher in the header (the name of the current workspace).
- Pick a workspace from the list, or type to filter it.
- The page reloads in that workspace, on the same screen where possible.
What's next
- Cloud console: members, notifications and your account.
- Argon: what lives inside an Argon workspace.
