2. Create your organization
Create your company's organization in Zym Labs Cloud and become its owner.
An organization is your company in Zym Labs: its people, its email domains and how they sign in. The person who creates it becomes its first Owner. Create one when you're setting up Zym Labs for your company; if a colleague already has, ask them to invite you instead.
Before you start
- A Zym Labs account with a verified email address. See 1. Create your account.
- A short name for your organization. It goes in your organization's links, like
zymlabs.cloud/organizations/acme, and can't be changed later, so pick it with care.
Steps
Start a new organization
In Cloud, choose Organizations in the sidebar, then New organization. If you don't have one yet, choose Create organization.
Name your organization
Enter the Organization name, usually your company's name. You can change it later.
Then enter the Short name: 2 to 40 lowercase letters, numbers and dashes, such as acme. Some short names are reserved for Zym Labs, like admin and billing.
Create it
Choose Create organization. Cloud shows Setting up your organization while it creates the organization and its roles and makes you its owner. It usually takes a few seconds, and you can leave the page while it finishes.
When it says your organization is ready, choose Go to overview.
Your organization's overview has a Set up checklist with the next steps: verify your domain, invite your team and set up single sign-on. The pages that follow take them in the same order.
If it doesn't work
- The short name is taken or reserved. Choose another; short names are unique across Zym Labs.
- We couldn't create your organization. Nothing was created, so try again in a few minutes.
- You've reached the daily limit. Each person can create 3 organizations a day. Try again tomorrow, or contact support to raise it.
What's next
- 3. Verify your domain: prove your company owns its email domain.
- How organizations and roles work: what owners, admins and members can do.
