Test a connection

Sign in through a single sign-on connection yourself, or send a test link to someone else.

A test sign-in proves a connection works before anyone depends on it. It shows exactly what your identity provider sent and how Cloud used it. Cloud won't let you require a connection until someone has signed in through it. You need to be an owner or admin.

Test with your own account

  1. Open Single sign-on, then the connection, and choose Test sign-in. During setup, it's the Test step's Start test sign-in.
  2. In the window Cloud opens, sign in with your own work account at your identity provider: the one for your email address.
  3. Cloud shows Passed with what your provider sent for each attribute and what Cloud used it as, or Failed with why.

Sign in as yourself in that window. Signing in as someone else there stops the test with an error.

Test with someone else's account

  1. On the Test step, choose Get a test link.
  2. Open the link in a private window, or send it to the person testing.

The link works once, within 15 minutes, and you see the result on the setup page. Choose Get a new link for another.
