3. Verify your domain
Prove your company owns its email domain by adding a DNS record.
Verifying your domain proves your company owns it, such as acme.com. Once it's verified, colleagues who sign up with an @acme.com address join your organization automatically, and you can set up single sign-on for it. You prove it by adding one DNS record, which takes a few minutes to add and up to an hour to show up.
You need to be an organization owner or admin, and able to change your domain's DNS or ask someone who can.
Steps
Add the domain
In your organization, open Domains and choose Add domain. Enter the part after @ in your colleagues' email addresses, such as acme.com, and choose Add domain.
Add the DNS record
Cloud shows a TXT record to add. Sign in to wherever your domain's DNS is managed, such as your registrar, Cloudflare or Route 53, and add it exactly as shown:
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
| TXT | _zymlabs-verify.acme.com | zymlabs-verify=… |
The value is unique to your organization and domain: copy it from Cloud.
Wait for the check
Cloud looks for the record every few minutes for up to 7 days, so you can leave the page. To look again straight away, choose Check now. Once it finds the record, the domain shows Verified.
Cloud may then offer to add the people who already have Zym Labs accounts on your domain as members. Choose who to add, or Not now. Verify a domain explains that, and what happens if the record is removed later.
